View service - Historical orthophotos 1980s This service allows the visualization of historical orthophoto mosaics based on available aerial photographs covering parts of the Belgian territory. The data is accessible via a Web Map Service (WMS). Orthophotos are aerial photographs that have been geometrically corrected (orthorectified) to eliminate distortions caused by terrain relief, lens distortion, and camera tilt. Unlike raw aerial imagery, orthophotos have a uniform scale and accurate geometry, making them suitable for cartography, measurements, and visual analysis. This specific service includes historical orthophotos from 1989, derived from aerial surveys carried out by the National Geographic Institute (NGI). During this period, only analogue aerial photographs are available. The analogue images were scanned at high resolution and orthorectified. The resulting orthophotos were assembled into mosaics and georeferenced in the Lambert 2008 coordinate system. All orthophotos are panchromatic (black and white). The ground resolution (GSD) is 10 cm. The spatial coverage of this service is limited to the areas for which aerial photographs were available during the mentioned period. infoMapAccessService Aerial photographs and orthophotographs Federal viewer Environment Orthoimagery federal government aerial photograph Orthoimagery National historical orthophotos, aerial photographs, 1989, panchromatic, black and white, 10 cm resolution OGC WMTS 1.0.0 None NGI - IGN metadata@ngi.be Orthophoto 1989 orthophoto_1989 2.525725328022172 49.4846161497054 6.459015682518877 51.50583560067848 orthophoto_1989 image/png text/plain 3857 7 42 44 64 67 8 85 88 129 133 9 170 175 259 266 10 340 350 519 531 11 681 700 1038 1061 12 1362 1399 2076 2122 13 2724 2797 4153 4243 14 5448 5593 8306 8486 15 10896 11186 16613 16972 16 21792 22372 33227 33944 17 43585 44743 66455 67888 3857 urn:ogc:def:crs:EPSG::3857 7 4367830.1877243575 -20037508.342789244 20037508.342789244 256 256 67 44 8 2183915.0938621787 -20037508.342789244 20037508.342789244 256 256 133 88 9 1091957.5469310894 -20037508.342789244 20037508.342789244 256 256 266 175 10 545978.7734655447 -20037508.342789244 20037508.342789244 256 256 531 350 11 272989.38673277234 -20037508.342789244 20037508.342789244 256 256 1061 700 12 136494.69336638617 -20037508.342789244 20037508.342789244 256 256 2122 1399 13 68247.34668319309 -20037508.342789244 20037508.342789244 256 256 4243 2797 14 34123.67334159654 -20037508.342789244 20037508.342789244 256 256 8486 5593 15 17061.83667079827 -20037508.342789244 20037508.342789244 256 256 16972 11186 16 8530.918335399136 -20037508.342789244 20037508.342789244 256 256 33944 22372 17 4265.459167699568 -20037508.342789244 20037508.342789244 256 256 67888 44743
